On the anniversary of Jimi Hendrix's death, Magnetic Eye Records' founder had the idea to bring together a group of bands to record a compilation of Hendrix songs. In considering Jimi's catalog of music, though, he decided that the best way to pay proper tribute was to take on his masterpiece, Electric Ladyland, in full from cover to cover. The result is the first chapter in Magnetic Eye's acclaimed Redux series, in which artists such as Elder, All Them Witches, Earthless, Elephant Tree and more triumphantly re-imagine the consummate Hendrix double album from end to end in ambitious and reverent new ways.
